Boster Kobayashi and Associates uses the latest specialized equipment and techniques to perform analyses:
Black Box Downloads: Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) System to recover data from all vehicles supported including: BMW, Chrysler/Fiat/Dodge/Jeep, Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, General Motors (Chevrolet/GMC/Pontiac/Buick/Cadillac/Oldsmobile/Saturn), Honda/Acura, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Nissan/Infiniti, Suzuki, Toyota/Lexus/Scion, Volkswagen and Volvo.
Heavy Equipment Downloads: Electronic Control Module (ECM) downloads from engine manufacturers including: Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, International, Mack, Mercedes, Paccar, and Volvo.
Slip Testing: We have all the widely used slipmeters including the English XL (most widely used), Brungraber Mark II and III, and BOT-3000E (Newest unit approved by the Tile Council of North America (TCNA) to validate ceramic tile). All devices are used in conjunction with the latest standards in the industry.
3D Laser Scanning: Using a FARO 3D laser scanner, virtually anything can be scanned to obtain a very accurate 3-dimensional model, including roadway/walkways, vehicles and equipment. These scans then can be incorporated into computer simulations and animations.
Electronic Total Station: Two person as well as one person robotic electronic distance measuring (EDM) devices to accurately map accident scenes and physical evidence as needed. This data can be used to produce an accurate scene diagram for presentation and analyses.
Night and Day Photography/Video: High resolution still and video cameras to produce accurate night and day visibility photographs/videos for analysis and court room presentation.
Illuminance and Luminance Meters: These meters accurately measure available lighting as well as contrast to determine the ability to see in specific lighting conditions as well as code compliance.
Computer Simulations and Animations: PC-Crash and HVE-2D to perform vehicular analyses with scientific validity. Combine with 3D Studio Max to make courtroom animations.
